Activities in Balatonlelle

Balatonlelle Amusement Park

The amusement park on Rákóczi Street has been welcoming visitors since 1991 and is one of the largest entertainment centers on Lake Balaton for both adults and children. A variety of carousels, extreme and family-oriented equipment provide a full-day program, with evening opening hours during the summer season.

Adventure park and giant slide on the Western free beach

The city center's West Beach is not just for swimming: it also has an adventure park, tennis and beach volleyball courts, and a huge water slide. Pedalo and surfboard rentals are also available, so you can put together an active day-long program.

Ferris wheel in the city center

In the heart of Balatonlelle stands a nearly 30-meter-high Ferris wheel, offering an unparalleled panorama of the lake and the surrounding hills. A short but memorable program, especially at sunset.

Sightseeing train

The charming little train, departing from the Móló Promenade, takes you up to Kishegő Hill, passing by Lellei School, from where you can enjoy a stunning view of the lake. The short, comfortable tour is an excellent introductory program for those who want to quickly get a comprehensive picture of the settlement.

Outdoor cinema

Balatonlelle's cult garden cinema offers a retro atmosphere and modern, multiplex-level projection and sound technology at the same time. Due to the covered auditorium, it also operates in rainy weather, making it a great alternative program even in bad weather.

Sailing and water sports in Balatonlelle harbor

The 220-berth sailing marina, built in 2001, is one of the most beautiful and high-quality marinas on Lake Balaton. From here, you can try sailing programs, harbor walks, and water sports - it is worth asking about current rental and training options on site.

Napfény Beach and Adventure Bath

A favorite for families with small children: shallow, slowly deepening water, where even the youngest can swim safely, with a sandy beach for building sandcastles.

Rádpuszta Horse Riding Afternoon

Traditional Hungarian horse riding demonstration, wine tasting and gypsy music on a cozy rural estate, the Balatonlelle-Rádpuszta Gastronomic Experience Estate. An ideal program for families and lovers of equestrian experiences.

Attractions

Kishegye and the panoramic lookout

Kishegy, rising on the border of Lelle, reaches an altitude of almost 300 meters above sea level and is one of the most excellent wine-growing regions in the area. From the panoramic terrace located in the well-kept park forest, in good weather you can see all the way to Keszthely Bay, and the view also includes the silhouette of Badacsony, Tóti Hill and Gulács.

St. Donatus Chapel

The 18th century Baroque chapel on Kishegy was built by Baron György Majthényi and named after Saint Donat, the patron saint of winegrowers. The building is a listed building and was given its current form after renovation in 2014. The nearby observation deck can also be reached via a path starting from the chapel.

Church ruins from the Árpád era

One of the oldest monuments of Balatonlelle is the ruins of a church built in the first half of the 13th century in Romanesque style, made of carved sandstone and brick. The ruins are one of the most important, quiet witnesses to the historical past of the settlement.

Kapoli Museum and Gallery

The Kapoli Museum is housed in a carefully renovated farmhouse built in the late 1700s. Permanent exhibitions are held on the ground floor, while temporary, contemporary art exhibitions are held in the attic gallery.

Szalay Castle (Africa Museum)

The Szalay Castle on Kossuth Lajos Street is home to the African collection of Count Somssich Pongrác, which presents the memories of twenty years of African adventures. (It is worth checking the opening hours in advance, as the exhibition may be closed for renovations.)

Szent István Square – the Mediterranean-style heart of the town

The center of summer in Balatonlelle is Szent István Square, where concerts, portrait painters and a row of shops await visitors in the evenings. This square is the best starting point for an evening walk, and there is a good chance that the sightseeing train also departs from here.

Balatonlelle Roman Catholic Church

A century-old church in the city center with a turbulent past, where organ concerts are held weekly.

Lellepke Tropical Butterfly Garden

The only privately owned, family-run tropical butterfly garden on Lake Balaton! The Butterfly Garden in Balatonlellé was designed to be as spectacular as possible, adapting to the characteristics of the area.
